A man asked a Sheikh, “Can I take my MP3 with stored Quran into the toilet with me?” The Sheikh replied: “Yes.” The man was surprised. He said: “But Sheikh! It has QURAN on there! And the toilet is where all the dirt is! Are you sure?” The Sheikh replied: “Yes, you can take the MP3 in the toilet.” The man’s eyes were wide now. He tried one last time. “Ya sheikh! The Quran is the word of Allah, and we are taking it to shaytaan’s house?” The Sheikh just smiled. “Ya Akhee. How much of the Quran have you memorized?” The man replied, “Quite a bit.” The Sheikh said, “O.K then, take you brain out of you head when you go to the toilet! You have Quran stored in there aswell dont you?”

“Mengapa engkau menyembah Allah?” tanya Rabiatul Adawiyah.

“Kerana aku takut azab neraka.”

“Juga aku ingin ke syurga.” mereka menjawab.

Rabiah kecewa mendengar jawapan mereka dan menyambung, “Seandainya syurga dan neraka tidak ada, apakah kalian akan menyembah Allah?”

Mereka saling memandang dan terkejut akan soalan Rabiah itu.

“Aku menyembah Allah kerana mengharap keredhaan-Nya. Nikmat dan anugerah yang diberikan kepadaku sudah cukup untuk menggerakkan hatiku agar menyembah dan beribadah kepada-Nya.” jawab Rabiah tegas.

1) Milk:

“Milk wipes away heat from the heart just as the finger.” It strengthens the back, improves the brain, renews vision and drives away forgetfulness.

2) Honey:

Honey is a remedy for every illness and the Quran is a remedy for all illness of the mind therefore i recommend to you both remedies, the Qur’an and honey (Bukhari).

3) Figs:

“If i had to mention a fruit that descended from paradise i would say this is it because the paradisacal fruits do not have pits. Eat from these fruits for they prevent hemorrhoids, piles and help gout.” (Bukhari)

4) Dates:

“Whoever takes seven ajwa dates in the morning will not be affected by magic of poison on that day.” (Bukhari)

Rasulullah (SAW) said that a house without dates has no food.

5) Barley:

Good in fever while used in a soup form.

6) Melon:

“None of your women who are pregnant and eat of water melon will fail to produce off spring that is good in countenance and good in character.”

7) Grapes:

“It purifies the blood, provides vigor and health, strengthens the kidneys and clears the bowels.”

8) Mushrooms:

Rasulullah (SAW) said that “The mushroom is a good cure for the eyes.”

9) Pomegranate:

“Cleanses you of saitan and evil aspirations for 40 days”

10) Vinegar:

Rasulullah (SAW) used to eat with olive oil. (Thats now a fashion in elite italian restaurants).

11) Olive Oil:

Important for skin and hair treatment, delays old age and treats inflammation of

the stomach.

12) Water:

Rasulullah (SAW) said “The best drink in this world is water; when you are thirsty drink it by sips and not gulps, gulping produces sickness of the liver.”

Note: As Muslims we are fortunate enough to obtain this knowledge and include these foods in our diet. Allah has blessed us with many good foods.

Narrated Sahl (R.A): The Prophet (S.A.W) said, “Indeed, there is a gate in Paradise called Ar-Rayaan. On the Day of Resurrection, those who fasted will enter it and none except them will enter. It will be said, ‘Where are those who used to fast?’ They will arise and none except them will enter it. After their entry, the gate will be closed and none will enter it.”
